Appearance
:
Standing at a very short 5'0, Sveta is not your typical looking elf. She's a half elf, but you'd never be able to guess by her large, pointed ears that usually lay low and relaxed. Despite her lacking in height, she has the characteristics of an elf through and through. Slender and graceful. Her eyes are a beautiful purple, that have a glimmering sparkle to them. Around her pupil, there is also a golden ring. Her vividly colored eyes make her pale and porcelain skin all the more striking. Her bright white hair is pulled back into twintails with golden rings. The white strands drop down as far as her knees go, twisting into gentle spirals at the tips. The most characteristic piece of her outfit is her tiara, the wing-like band rests on her head and has a horn in the middle, much like a unicorn.
Personality
:
Sveta is a bright and bubbly little ball of sunshine. While she is very sweet and energetic, there is a bit of mystery that tends to surround her. Where did she come from? Why does she look so strange? Why did she join the guild? When asked these questions, she never seems to respond.
History
:
The Village: Growing up in the extremely remote village of Esfir, Sveta's childhood situation is rather unique. Esfir is tucked away in a forest, far from all cities and any form of civilization. It's population is made up only of elves, as they are the only species accepted inside. It's a perilous venture to find the place, and it seems that all who have tried to enter, have met their fate in the deep forest. The reason for this, is Zyvosdoka. Often referred to as Little Star, Zyvosdoka is a deity. Few have studied them, as it is extremely hard to find information on them. Little Star is the overseer of outsiders. Those who don't fit in to their setting very well find comfort in their protection. The people of Esfir are the ancestors of a group of elves who followed Zyvosdoka, millions of years ago. This tradition has been held up, and become even more strict through the passing years. No one is allowed passage inside of the village unless they have learned the teachings of Little Star, and only if they are elves. This is for their protection, as the village guards many ancient treasures from the first followers of Zyvosdoka. Residents of Efir are allowed to leave, although with very little to take with them. The Tale: In this village, there was a young elven girl. She longed for adventure and to see the world outside of her village. She did just that, becoming a brutal warrior and a fierce thief. Her adventures were legendary, as were the people she allied with. As many young people do, she fell in love with one of her comrades, a human boy. They loved each other dearly, and were an unstoppable team together. Unfortunately, all good things must end. Orc bandits caught them off guard in their camp at dusk, and the numbers game got the best of them. The mortally wounded human demanded she retreat. Tearfully, she ran away for as long as she possibly could. They say the main river that runs through the forest was the result of her tears. The stories told of her adventure usually end here, with her disappearing into the forest and mourning her fallen comrade and lover. And yet, there is so much more to be told. Sveta: The elven girl was no longer able to fight, the grief of her loss had become too much. She wasn't safe no matter where she went, so she came back to the only place she knew would protect her. The elf was allowed passage back into Esfir, but little did she know she was carrying the human boys child. This unsettled the village very much, never having had to deal with a half-elf. After much arguing and pleading, it was allowed as an exception. The child was born without incident, and given the name Sveta. The half-elf looked just like her mother and grew up very much the same. There was no denying that she was treated differently, many chose to ignore her. Sveta never seemed to be bothered by it, as she had a very comfortable life with her mother and the rest of their family that lived there. She was bright and beautiful and had a reputation for bringing injured animals home and nursing them back to health. As often as it does, tragedy struck. The village was found and attacked by an owlbear that had been released into the wild. Ferocious beasts that took many to take it down. Sveta's mother, not wanting her family to get hurt, took her dagger and went to fight along the side of the village guards. Sveta, not thinking of her own safety, trailed behind her to watch the battle. The fight was gruesome and long, and evenly matched. Mortally wounded, the owlbear raised it's claw and looked directly at Sveta's mother. The elf froze up completely. Her fear of battling got the best of her, at last. She could do nothing but stare into her fate. Sveta was unable to control herself. She dashed onto the field of battle and pushed her mother out of the way of the giant claw. She was killed immediately. Resurrection: The blackness of death didn't seem to last too long, before Sveta found herself among the stars. She questioned her surroundings, and was met with a beast of pure white and gold. Purple eyes stared her down, and she stared back. It's voice filled the void of space, it's slender face didn't move. It spoke to her like an old friend. Like it was always watching her. Zyvosdoka was giving her another chance. Sveta embraced the beast, and the beast endowed her with some of it's life and powers. Before sending her back home, the Little Star left her with words that would shape the rest of her life. "My life inside of you drives you along the path of good, but your fate is your own to determine." She awoke in a bed of feathers, in the chapel of Zyvosdoka. Her tanned skin had turned a bright pale, her short brown hair had grown long and silver. She stayed there, her wounds still ached and were partly open. She was eventually found there, though her features were new, her face was undeniably Sveta's. She didn't say much about what happened with Little Star. She didn't need to, the situation spoke for itself. From then on, Sveta was revered as a hero of the village, a symbol of what Little Star represents. She was finally accepted. The girl lived comfortably and happy in the village from then on. But you know what they say: Like mother, like daughter. Galdin: Sveta's 'more-than-comfortable' life started to bore her after a few years time. She wanted to adventure, she wanted to see the world. Reluctantly, she was allowed to leave. She was escorted out of the dangerous forest and left alone at a crossroads with a sign. "Galdin" had a nice ring to it, so that's exactly where she went. While visiting the town, she stumbled upon a building. "Adventurer's Guild". It almost sounded too perfect. Without any hesitation, Sveta enlisted herself. Ready for any adventure and to use her powers to the best of their abilities, she's determined to prove herself as a strong part of any team.
Skills
:
BLOODLINE ABILITIES: Sveta was granted the power of the heavens and the stars when she was resurrected. These common spells do not cause exhaustion and can be used freely. Sveta's weakness is being unable to physically attack, so she makes up for it in high single target damage, and moderate damage to multiple targets with a longer cast time. Heal: Sveta moderately heals a target. Wipes away most adverse conditions such as exhaustion, poison, blind, confusion, etc. Deals damage if used against mindless undead such as zombies, skeletons, and possibly ghouls. This can also be used to remove minor curses from people and objects. Casting time: Instant/Dependent (Takes more time if there are more targets) Energetic Blessing: Sveta fills her allies with courage. Each ally gains morale and bonus damage, and resistance against fear effects. Casting time: Instant Glitterdust: A cloud of golden particles covers everything in the area. Creatures become blinded, and outlines invisible objects. All in the area are covered by dust, and it cannot be removed until it fades. More annoying than useful. Casting time: Instant Flamestrike: Basic attack with divine fire. Half of the damage is fire damage, and the other half results directly from divine power, bypassing fire resistances. Casting time: Short (5 seconds) Heavenly Fire: Sveta can unleash a ray of heavenly fire, targeting any foe within 20 feet. Allies in range can be healed once a day by Heavenly Fire. Casting time: Long (2 minutes) Minute Meteors: Sveta summons a rain of tiny meteors, falling in a 5-foot column, 30 feet high and can be cast in a range of 30 feet. Inflicts fire damage. Casting time: Medium (1 minute) Aurora Borealis: Sveta can create a sheet of cascading colors. It acts as a protective wall, inflicting cold damage to any foe that touches it. One side of the aura, designated by her, fascinates any creature within 10 feet. Casting time: Short (30 seconds) Blink: Sveta can 'blink' quickly back and forth between the Material Plane and the Ethereal Plane. It looks as if she's blinking in and out of reality at random. Blink lowers the chance of a physical attack hit when used, and Sveta only takes half damage from falling since you can only fall while in material form. Casting Time: Instant Unseen Friend: Little Star can drop in as their own physical form. Since this is not their usual plane of existence, they can perform simple tasks, such as running to fetch things, cleaning, mending, and the like. They cannot attack in any way, and cannot be killed. If they take damage, they simply dissipate. Casting time: Short (10 seconds) *LITTLE STAR*: In times of extreme danger or lack of emotional control, Little Star can take over for her protection. They can cast her normal spells, but also gains access to these spells. As Sveta starts to grow in her magic prowess, she can hone these abilities for herself. For now, these skills are considered 'locked' to Sveta in a normal state. However, she may practice these abilities. These abilities more often than not damage Sveta in some way. They are a last resort, as she requires a period of resting afterwards. Damaging spells are weaker against 'good' aligned targets, and stronger against 'evil' aligned targets. Wings of Heaven: Sveta can sprout wings and fly for a limited amount of time. When she hones this ability with practice, the flying duration will become unlimited. She moves much faster and has more maneuverability while flying. Drawback: Growing the wings for Sveta is extremely painful. While she is inexperienced with using them, using them quickly exhausts her. Casting time: Medium (2 minutes) Breaching the Chasm: Zyvosdoka can teleport a single creature within 30 feet into the void of space. While trapped in the airless void, the target suffers cold damage and must hold it's breath or begin to suffocate. Drawback: This spell causes immediate exhaustion. Casting time: Medium (2 minutes) Sunburst: Zyvosdoka can cast a globe of searing radiance to explode silently from a point they select. All creatures in the globe are blinded and take damage. Drawbacks: This spell causes exhaustion, related to the size of the globe cast. Casting time: Long (3 minutes) Repulsion: An invisible, mobile field surrounds Sveta, and prevents anything from approaching her. Little Star decides how big the field is when it is cast. Drawbacks: Sveta cannot attack when inside the bubble. If Sveta herself moves in range of a creature, it is not forced back and is free to attack until she moves away. Casting time: Instant **LOCKED**: These spells are completely unavailable for current use by Zyvosdoka or Sveta. As Sveta hones her current powers, Zyvosdoka will allow her to learn these. Meteor Swarm: Little Star can cast meteor swarm, a spectacular and dangerous spell. 4 2-foot diameter spheres spring from Sveta's outstretched hand and streak in straight lines to the spot that Little Star selects. They leave a trail of fiery sparks. When aimed at a specific creature, they may strike the target with the meteor. They take bludgeoning damage and fire damage. If it misses, it simply explodes. When a sphere reaches its destination, it explodes in a large radius spread, dealing fire damage to each creature in the area. If a creature is in the area of more than one meteor, it must take damage separately against each. All of the fire damage is added up together after saves have been made, and fire resistance is only applied once. Gate: Zyvosdoka can create an interdimensional connection between Sveta's plane of existence and a plane Little Star specifies. Only beings that Sveta or Little Star calls through the gate will be allowed passage. Reverse Gravity: This spell reverses gravity in the area, causing unattached objects to fall upward. If used outdoors, the creature simply floats upward until the duration of the spell ends. As it ends, affected objects and creatures fall to the ground. Prying Eyes: Creates a number of semi-tangible, visible magic orbs called "eyes". The number depends on casting period. These eyes may move out, scout around, and return as Little Star directs. They are small and difficult to spot, but very fragile. They do not share Sveta's low-light vision and in darkness, they must feel their way around. They aren't very intelligent, and must be given simple directions. The only way for them to report their findings is to return to Sveta's hand. Call Lightning Storm: Little Star calls lightning bolts. Only 10 may be cast a day, and they deal more damage if cast in a stormy area. Ascension: ???? Big Bang: ???? FEATS: Light resistance to fire and electricity. Voidwalker: Immunity to cold, acid, and blindness. Low-light vision, in natural or magical darkness. Sveta has little need for breathing. One With the Stars: Sveta heals faster when she's outdoors at night. Iron Will: Sveta is more resistant to mental effects. Knowledge: Religion and Nature. OTHER: Sveta has pretty weak constitution and a frail physical form. Under maximum exhaustion, Sveta has little time to flee the battlefield before she falls unconscious. Sveta can communicate with Zyvosdoka at will. They are not visible, but they can be heard by others. Sveta's body is mostly cold to the touch. When Little Star takes over, Sveta has only vague memories of what happens. Little Star may speak through her as they please. Unless she has suffered exhaustion from the day, Sveta does not sleep through the night and relies on meditation to keep her spells in check. In this state, she is conscious, but unable to cast spells without preparing for 15 minutes or Zed's intervention. Exhaustion is doubled in this state. HOBBIES: Sveta is fond of cooking. She can usually be found reading a cookbook. She also knows minor tailoring and can mend clothes by hand.
